We’re excited to welcome Lindsay Timmerman and Courtney Berns to the Faith Hospice Bereavement Team! You can learn more about our newest staff members below.
Lindsay Timmerman
Before joining the Faith Hospice Bereavement Team, Lindsay Timmerman (LLPC, NCC) worked as a Middle School Counselor in Midland, Michigan. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and English with a Creative Writing Emphasis from Hope College and a Master of Science in School Counseling and Licensed Mental Health Certification from Butler University. As a Bereavement Counselor, Lindsay runs support groups, leads workshops, and offers individual counseling for children and adults. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, and relaxing with her husband, daughter, and two rescue dogs.
Courtney Berns
Courtney Berns graduated from Aquinas College with a degree in Community Leadership and Developmental Psychology. With a passion for helping others through life’s challenges, she decided to continue her education, receiving a Master’s in Social Work. Throughout her schooling, she held various internships in bereavement counseling and substance abuse counseling and worked with children in an enhanced foster care system. After graduating, Courtney worked as a children’s trauma therapist in Ann Arbor for two years but felt called home to Grand Rapids. Outside of work, Courtney can often be found up north at her cottage with her furry friend or traveling the world.
