Hospice is more than medical care. We take a whole-person approach that supports patients and their loved ones emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Social workers are at the center of this circle of care, providing guidance, assistance, and comfort during one of life’s most challenging journeys. With March being Social Work Month, we wanted to take the time to recognize and celebrate the incredible impact that social workers have in hospice care.

Social Workers & The Hospice Care Team
Social workers work alongside nurses, doctors, spiritual caregivers, volunteers, and therapists to create a complete support system for our patients and their loved ones. Each team member has an important role in helping to care for the mind, body, and spirit. We believe that choice is important in the end-of-life journey, and this network of support allows patients to make choices based on their values, beliefs, and goals.

“It is really just so meaningful to be helping patients and their families during the most difficult times in their lives.”
— DeAnna, Faith Hospice Social Worker
There When It Matters Most
