Faith Hospice in the News:
Faith Hospice Hires New Musical Therapist
LeAnn Chin, MT-BC
Faith Hospice Music Therapist
We are thrilled to welcome LeAnn Chin to the Faith Hospice team! LeAnn is a board-certified music therapist with a bachelor’s degree in music therapy from Western Michigan University. Since beginning her career, LeAnn has had the privilege of working with various populations, including young children, children with physical and intellectual disabilities, adolescents facing mental health challenges, and older adults in hospice care.
Music therapy is defined as the clinical & evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship. As part of our complementary therapies here at Faith Hospice, it has been shown to increase social support, self-expression, and engagement while decreasing anxiety, restlessness, and agitation, and promoting family bonding and memory-making.
LeAnn’s faith is very important to her and fuels her passion for serving others. She is always seeking opportunities to improve her knowledge and skills to better serve those in need. Outside of work, LeAnn prioritizes spending quality time with family and friends. She enjoys activities like board games and outdoor sports and is passionate about exploring new languages and musical instruments to broaden her interest in skillset.
We are incredibly blessed to have LeAnn join our team and are looking forward to seeing the impact her work will have on our patients experiencing the end-of-life journey and their loved ones.
